Best Features Highlighted
It’s easy to see what makes the Milwaukee 6955-20 so durable and special. The rubber handles also make it easy to keep your hands in the right spot and to cut the wood in all the right places and locations.
- Durability: Although this saw comes at a higher price compared to miter saws from competitors, this saw is really built to last a lifetime. You can spend more money upfront now and less money fixing the parts or having to buy a new saw every few years. This is a great miter saw to keep in the house or to keep in your work trailer to bring to different job sites and projects with you.
- Overall Performance: Most users have no complaint when it comes to performance. The durability and the power also contribute to an overall positive experience because you can be sure you have a saw that never quits on you when you need it the most.
- Power: With the 15 amp motor and the 3,200 RPMs, power is not an issue when it comes to this miter saw. You can easily cut any type of wood, metal, or plastic that you need for a project.
Cut Capacity
This Milwaukee miter saw comes with the patented constant power technology which allows you to keep the blade at a solid 3,200 rpm with or without a load. This allows you to cut smooth edges without needing to change or worry about the speeds. For some, the constant power technology might seem weird at first because you are used to always adjusting it.

With time though, you can see what a great addition it is to the miter saw. The mitering detents are also very stable and can move 60 degrees in either direction if you want to manually adjust it, you can do so with the detent override feature or the miter angle fine adjust option.
Bevel Adjustments
Not everyone will use the double bevel adjustment feature, but it’s always good to have if you plan to do more delicate work in the future. It’s easy to use and you can switch it on and off with a small switch.
When using the bevel adjustments, the miter saw also displays a soft green light that allows you to see your angle within a tenth of a degree. The dial one needs one hand to be adjusted so you can keep cutting while using the dial as needed. Many 12” miter saws do not have this feature.
Compare 10″ vs 12″ miters saws to determine what size you need.
Dust Blowing
One of my favorite features is the dust-blowing mechanism. If you have ever owned a miter saw without a dust blower, or with one that barely works, you know how awful it can be to try and see what you are cutting.
The Milwaukee 6955-20 miter saw removes almost all the debris while you are cutting. Although the company advertises that it collects 75% of debris, I would say the real percentage is probably closer to 50%. This might seem low, but it’s much better than other miter saws on the market.
Lighting
This saw doesn’t have laser guiding like you might be used to, but it does have dual lights and most people say they work better than saws with laser guiding. The lights are on both sides of the blade, so you get good illumination without the creation of shadows.

There is also an on/off switch that allows you to turn the lights off easily when using them.
Dado Stop
The saw also comes with a dado stop that allows you to be able to switch between different depths of cuts. You can also swing it or push it out of the way when you don’t need it anymore.
While the capability is there, there is limited accuracy with the dado. So, you might not want to use it for precision finishing as it might not give you the quality product you are hoping for.
A Few Cons
The major and really only con with this Milwaukee miter saw is the weight. At 65 pounds, it’s powerful and durable, but not very portable. If you have a work trailer or tend to work at the same job sites for a long time, this might not be an issue.
If you think you will need to move the miter saw back and forth every day though, the weight can definitely deter you from buying this saw. It also doesn’t come with a case, so carrying it can be complicated.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this miter saw is one of the most powerful and accurate saws in the market. With the dust blower and the bevel adjustments, it definitely is hard to compete with. The major concern is only with the weight. Keep in mind that most of your heavy-duty saws will be around the same weight because of all the features they bring to the table.
