Best Features Highlighted

With a list of features, it’s easy to be confused about what they actually mean and if they make a good table saw or not.

The Dewalt DWE7491RS is possibly one of the best job site table saws with a movable stand because of the maximum power, the cut capacity, and the fact that it’s extremely portable. The quality of the build also easily puts it at the top of the list for best table saws.

  • Portability: Many table saws are portable, but the low-quality mobile stands make it virtually impossible to use the saw. The mobile stand on the DWE7491RS is one of the top ones in the market though. It’s strong, stores in an upright position, and is easy to set up. You’ll notice that this table saw is about $100 more than other Dewalt options, but the sturdy mobile stand makes the higher price worth it.
  • Overall Performance: This saw has top accuracy mostly thanks to the rack and pinion fence rails. You can also easily adjust the fence and it will stay parallel to the blade for the duration you are using it. Unlike other saws, this one has fence rides on the front and back, so you don’t have to worry about fence drift.
  • Power: Power is the number one question when it comes to table saws because you want to make sure it’s strong enough to get the hard work done, but still safe and easy to use without overpowering you. The 15-amp motor and the 4,800 RPM on this model are just right. It gives you better ripping quality.

Safety Features

The safety and accessory features on the DWE7491RS are ale notable and top of the market.

  • The on/off switch gives you an easy way to shut off the saw quickly.
  • You also have to live the safety cover before being able to turn off the saw, so you never have to worry about the saw randomly turning on or turning on too soon.

Fence

The Flip-Over Fence is perfect if you need to cut narrow pieces. You can cut small sections of work without interfering with the blade guard.

You can also lock the table saw fence into lower positions when needed, such as when you need to support the workpiece.

Storage

The storage that comes with this saw is unseen in other table saw models.

It also allows you to keep track of the blade’s accessories without the possibility of them getting lost on the job site somewhere.

This is especially useful if you work on a job site where other people will be using the table saw.

Cut Capacity

This Dewalt table saw has a rip cutting capacity of 32 ½”, which is above the industry standard.

With the powerful and effective cutting capacity, you’ll find that cutting and using this saw is much easier than table saws you might have had in the past.

Along with the higher cut capacity, the rack and pinion fence system makes the saw even more powerful. This is great because it supports wider materials which allow the saw to in turn cut wider materials easier.

Mobile Roller Stand

The mobile roller stand is easy to use and can also be set up and broken down in just a few minutes. This makes your long days at the job site even easier.

Since the saw weighs close to 90 pounds, the saw can be hard to live with and even dangerous if you already have a back problem or other issue you’re dealing with.

With the mobile stand though, there is no heavy lifting required. When you want to fold the leg, all you have to do is stand the saw up on its end. The 4 legs of the stand can be folded down easily with the levers. You also don’t need any tools to set up the stand.

The large wheels make the stand easy to move around and store. If you have a compact job site, this stand makes your life much easier.

A Few Cons

With any table saw, there are always a few cons to look out for before buying. One of the main issues with this saw is the miter gauge. It gets the job done, but isn’t as accurate or stable as gauges you will find on other tables. Add one of the best digital angle finders to help overcome this challenge.

The miter slot is also not as stable as one would hope. If you cut a lot of different angles or are used to using a miter gauge for all your cuts, this one might not meet your needs.

What Cuts NOT To Make With a Table Saw [Important Safety Tips]

Final Thoughts

The DWE7491RS portable table saw is overall a fantastic saw with great performance and powerful cutting features. The main complaints users have are with the miter gauge and the less than stellar quality of the upper dust port. Since these parts are not the most important when it comes to table saws, though, most people still give this saw 5 stars.
